TOPIC : SHINING AS LIGHT IN A CROOKED WORLD
Scripture : Philippians 2:15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;
Beloved, I welcome you to another Moment of Daily Encounter! Jesus kept us on earth as a light of the world(Matt.5:14).
While on earth He was the light of the world(Jn.9:5)! So while leaving the world, He sent us to represent Him as light:
John 20: 21. Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.
However, there are factors that can affect our shining as light in this crooked world. Today, we shall be looking at some of this factors.
What are the factors that can hinders our shinning?
1. Company or association:
In the school of the Spirit, it has been confirmed that your company determines what accompanies you in life! To journey with Jonah in the boat of destiny is to sign up for a crash! Today, the Holy Ghost is saying, your light depends on your company.
Beloved, do you know where you are currently is because of how much you know? And how much you know is a function of the company you kept yesterday!
So if you must acquire higher dimensions of light, then hang around men with higher light. You can not continue to company with darkness and expect progress! Your progress is tied to your light and your light depends on your company.
What do we mean by company?
We mean your connection or relationship with things or people. Association is also a feeling, memory, or thought that is connected to a person, place, or thing. It is what you give your time to, whom you spend your time with, what kind of books you love giving your attention to, what kind of pastors you submit to and what kind of friends you keep.
Beloved, if you must experience light in any dimension then company with the right association (those with sufficient light)- the right pastor, the right fellowship/church group.
There are people who are already swimming in light, join them. You cannot continue to travel with Jonah and expect to arrive at your destination in life.
1 Corinthians 15: 33. Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
Just as we said yesterday light is reflective. When you hang around light, it reflects on you!
There are those who are shining as light until they find themselves in the company of bad friends, little by little their light went off! There are some fire-full brothers who got engaged to fire extinguisher sisters and their prayer fire goes out!
There are those who don’t fornicate before the moment they company with fornicators they started fornicating.
There are those who have no value for family life, when you company with such, you will discovered the tendency of wanting to leave your marriage!
Beloved the Bible did not leave us in the dark as per your association, when he raised an objection :
2 Corinthians 6: 14. Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
And it applaud those who choose to walk in the right company;
Psalm 1: 1. Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
Your company also includes your friends, the books you love reading and the television program you like watching. You don’t spend your time consuming junks and expect light.
Proverbs 13: 20. He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.
Beloved, check the people around you now, your life will be a reflection of the people that you hang around in three to five years time.
Saul was traveling with a group of persons, when the light struck him, everybody traveling with Saul saw it(Acts22:6-9):
Acts 22: 9. And they that were with me saw indeed the light, and were afraid; but they heard not the voice of him that spake to me.
This implies that you can not travel with someone with light and not see light.
Remember this : Heaven is real and hell is real! You can’t miss hell if you miss heaven. Prepare for eternity today. Jesus loves you!
Prayer points :
– Father thank you for your word to me today
– Lord, I receive grace to company with the right people so that I can shine as light to my world in Jesus name.
Prophetic Declaration :
– I prophesy the release of grace for right company in the name of Jesus.
– Every Jonah in your life currently, may God separate you from them in Jesus name .
Assignment : Check your association and edit it to ensure only those with requisite light are those you are travelling with.
