1. Be diligent:
Trust me, this is not negotiable, it is not an option, it is a necessity, if you must have things happen the way you want it, then you must be diligent! I remember when I was going to write my first external examination, I would wake up in the mid-night to read for 3hours, that is the price of greatness called “Diligence” I did this throughout the exam and I performed excellently well, for every greatness in life, there is a price and “Diligence” is one of them,
What is Diligence?
It’s the ability to put yourself in order for a definite purpose or target in view, you are always optimistic and strategic in planning, you are focus and hard working.
Like the saying goes, hard work breaks no bone, it will only help you get stronger; life is design in such a way that if you haven’t built sufficient capacity to handle some things, it will never come to reality in your life.
Diligence is one of the ways by which you learn to be hardworking, focus and discipline in all you do.
2. Be Optimistic :
This is very important, greatness in life is not just about how old you are but how much you know; Knowledge is one of the prerequisites of greatness, if you truly want to be great then you must crave for knowledge seriously; and been optimistic is one of the ways it can become an ever growing thing; optimism will let you know that you haven’t known it all in your field of study, it brings to your consciousness that you can actually know more than you know right now; there is no end to revelation and knowledge, and discoveries, innovations, bring ideas are always birthed by seriously desire to know more which is what Optimism is all about; your unending desire and craving for knowledge in your field of endeavors in life, This is what delivers great people among the thousands of people in the same field of life.
3. Be Hardworking:
`Greatness is not meant for lady people; you might not be lazy but you can also not be hardworking, what does it mean to be hardworking?
It means you are continually pressing for more, you go the extra mile, you are committed and dedicated unto a goal and purpose that is ahead of you. Not everyone in life are hardworking, some people are just lazy but they want greatness, I have read a story of a man that goes to his work by 9:00am while he ought to resume by 8:00am and since the boss doesn’t question or query him, he continues but the true is, he is not hardworking and therefore, he can never be promoted, hardworking is what makes you to work as required not as convenient, hardwork devours pleasure and enjoyment for the price of an higher glory that is ahead.
If you want to be greater than your peers in the same field and endeavors of life then you must work harder than them in that same thing.
4. Be a reader:
I have talked about knowledge recently, let me diverge a little, knowledge is the acquisition of information, wisdom is the application of knowledge and understanding is the right application of what you know especially in response to situation and circumstances of life or your ability to relate your knowledge and wisdom to issues that come up in your life, career, business and fields of engagement.
Reading is one of the best platform to acquire quality information, if you must an high flyer in life, then you’ve gat to be a reader, reading is the platform that delivers greatness because while reading books and materials in your field, you will be getting information which will convert to knowledge and when knowledge as been fully downloaded, it becomes easy to apply them and that is wisdom, so your level of wisdom and knowledge is limited and restricted until you have gathered sufficient knowledge through the act of reading.
It is not good enough for you to go through out 2 weeks or an entire month without getting your hands on a study material, pdf, ebook, Docx and so on in the line of your endeavors, there are so much that as been known by great men that you see in your field one of the ways you can tap into what they carry is by getting their books.
5. Engage The Night Hour :
This is known to very few people but trust me it is one of the prerequisite of greatness in life, career and destiny. In the first point I mentioned above, I talked about how I use to read in the mid-night, it’s one of the most powerful season that liofe as brought us in 24hours, I heard people saying “ Oh meehh…n, this 24hours we have in a day is not enough for me, the truth is it will never be enough, you have to learn and realize that you can limit your sleeping hour so that you can work the more and get whatsoever you desire in the space of 24hours, if your crave is for financial exploit, then I am telling you, it is possible within 24 hours, Bill gates, Richard branson and some other richest people in the work today also get all their wealth and establishment using the same 24hours a day interval, so they don’t have what you don’t have, they have the same 24hrs space as you do.
Even as a business owner, often time I wake up In the night to study, read, meditate and come up with better ideas and innovations that can help my business move forward.
6. Make Plans Ahead:
I use to fall victim of assumption, like a wise man will say, assumption is the mother of frustration, don’t assume, rather make strategic plans that will help your goals and plans to become a reality.
Most of the great men and high flyers in life are people of Planning.
Whatsoever you don’t make plans for, will hit you unaware and this can be cost you more than you can bear.
While we were students studying as an undergraduates, I use to tell my mates, that I will be a CEO of my company and I will plan various businesses and employ workers; while l was planning, they were busy hoping to get a job somewhere somehow, this doesn’t work out; some of them are still seeking for Job today, it is not good to live your life on assumption, make plans;
My plans are working greatly for me now.
The plans you make is what will put you in control, in hardwork, in goal chasing, in optimism, in readership, in diligence and it will help you to maximize your time so as to get the best within the shortest possible period of time.
7. Put God First :
This is where many people fails it, understand that you must work and make your ways ahead, but you must also acknowledge God, I am a Christian and I have seen the hand of God mightily at work in my life, making things to fall in the right places for me, making every croaked ways straight for me, helping to me to ride upon my high places.
There are times when you will be faced with challenges and circumstances in life that are bigger than what you can handle, but your knowledge of God is what will rescue you, pray always, the bible says acknowledge me and I will direct your paths, God-factor is what energizes you to overcome challenges that might come your way and also l know there is a way to live that brings about greatness, if you truly wants to be great then you must honor God, accept Jesus as your lord and savior, serve him, follow his land down principles, follow his word and teachings on how to have good success in life, don’t live a life of sin which can utterly destroy you easily, I see God helping you as you choose to honor and obey him in Jesus name.
As you take heed to live by some of the success principles that as been shared in this article, I believe you will begin to see unrestricted success in your life and career.
