PRAYING FOR YOUR SPOUSE BEFORE MARRIAGE
“The good news is that it’s never too early or too late to begin praying for your future spouse.”
Pastor Mrs. Mensah stood confidently on the podium, surveying the crowd of young singles gathered before her. She was about to share a secret that had transformed her own marriage and she couldn’t wait to impart it to these eager learners.
The topic of the seminar was “Preparing For Marriage” and Pastor Mrs. Mensah had been invited to speak on the importance of prayer in finding a life partner.
“Ladies and gentlemen,” she began, “I want to ask you a question. How many of you have been praying for your future spouse?”
A few hands went up, but Pastor Mrs. Mensah noticed that many of the attendees looked uncertain.
“Don’t worry if you haven’t started yet,” she reassured them. “The good news is that it’s never too early or too late to begin praying for your future spouse.” You have an open cheque to “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek and ye shall find; knock and it shall be opened unto you”. Matthew 7:7.
Pastor shared her own story of how she had prayed for her husband before they met. “I would pray specifically for his character, his values and his heart,” she said. “I would ask God to prepare me for him and to prepare him for me. I also prayed for my future children”
She emphasized that the best time to pray for your future spouse is before you meet them. “It’s like laying a foundation for your marriage,” she explained. “You’re asking God to bring you and your future spouse together in His own time and to prepare you both for the journey ahead.”
As Pastor Mrs. Mensah spoke, she could see the lights turning on in the minds of the attendees. They were beginning to understand the power of prayer in finding a life partner.
One of the attendees, a young man named David, felt particularly inspired by Pastor Mrs. Mensah’s message. He had been feeling anxious about finding a wife, but now he felt a sense of peace and hope.
As the seminar came to a close, the Pastor encouraged the attendees to start praying for their future spouses. “Don’t worry if you don’t know who they are yet,” she said. “Just trust that God has someone special in store for you.”
The meeting came to a close and the attendees dispersed, each one feeling more hopeful and inspired about their future. They knew that they had the power to pray for their future spouses and to trust that God would bring them together in His own time.
