HOW NOT TO MAKE YOUR BODY INHABITABLE FOR THE SPIRIT OF GOD
Ignorance is eating many people up and they don’t know how much evil they are doing to themselves by living in their ignorance. Jesus said something, He said, _“and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free – John 8:32_. The knowledge of the truth brings freedom, while ignorance enslaves, and destroys.
In this writing, I want to help you understand what the bible says about ‘sin against one’s body.’ We are told to flee fornication; but it’s not just fornication, but adultery also, and all forms of sexual sin. The scripture says, every other sin that a man commits is a sin against his body, but he who commits fornication or adultery sins against his own body. What does this man, and how does it happen?
In this writing, you are going to learn about the danger of fornication and adultery; you would know the danger of having multiple sex partners; and you would also know why some men become poor the moment they start flirting around with women. I hope you would stay with me till the end of this writing.
Now, let’s read the portion of scripture that addressed this issue of sin against the body to begin with:
_*“Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid. What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh. But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.”* 1 Corinthians 6:15-18_
What is it about sexual sin that makes it sin against the body? I want you first of all to understand that, this letter, this epistle wasn’t written to none Christians, but to the Saints, the Christians at Corinth.
From the scriptures, we know that, the moment any man or woman confesses Jesus as Lord and Saviour, such a person is translated into the kingdom of God and becomes a member of the body of Christ, meaning the person is bought, and so, belong to Jesus – spirit, soul, and body.
By coming into Christ, you become one spirit with Him, you don’t become one body with Christ because Christ is God, and God is a Spirit; He is not body, so you can only be joined to God in the Spirit, not in the body. But by receiving Jesus as Lord and Saviour, He becomes the owner of you, you become His property, meaning you belong to God – spirit, soul, and body. From this very moment, you cease to own yourself, and you cease to have the ownership right over your body, the ownership right becomes His. But because you have become one spirit with the Lord, and spirit needs a body to live and function on the earth, your body now becomes the house, or the place where Christ dwells. As a child of God, your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost, and a member of the whole body of Christ.
You alone is not the whole body of Christ, but a member of the whole body. This member of the body of Christ is expected to remain the property of the Lord Jesus alone, because He paid a precious price for it, and by remaining in Him, and yielding your body as instrument of righteousness, you remain in union with the Lord who owns the body. But something happens when you allow the body of yours, which is a member of the body of Christ to be used for fornication or adultery.
In the beginning, God said, _“Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh” – Genesis 2:24_. The joining of a man and a woman together to become one flesh is a mystery. A man and a woman do not join to become one spirit, but they can join together to become one flesh, and in 1 Corinthians 6:16, the Bible says, the one who sleeps with an harlot is one body with her, meaning, the man and the harlot have become one flesh. So, whenever a man sleeps with any woman he is not legally married to, what he is doing is, joining himself to the woman to become one flesh, and because the woman is not his legal wife, it is a sin committed in his body. The scripture says, such a man sins against his own body, but how does he sin against his body?
Remember that your body as a Christian is the temple of God, a member of the body of Christ, and the sacred place where God dwells. When you give this same body to a harlot, or any other woman who is not your wife, your body loses its sacredness, it loses its sanctity, because you take that which is holy and of God and give it to a dog, the harlot, and what that means indirectly is that you have open your body which is supposed to be the temple of God to the devil to come in and carry out his business. And when you trade the sacredness of your body for sexual pleasure, you violate your body and sin against it, because it would no longer be able to enjoy God’s presence again as before.
This reminds me of the story of a man, the story of preacher who one day was driving and came to a place where prostitutes were, saw them and lust for them, then said to God, please leave me for a moment and let me go in to one of these prostitutes and enjoy myself. When he said that, the Holy Spirit which has always being with him left him, and the man went in and enjoy himself. At the time he was going in, he didn’t realize what had happened to him until he was through and came out.
After he came out, he felt empty, but thought the presence of God would come back, but that presence never came back. The man realizing what he had done to himself cried and cried, he cried for years begging for the presence to come back. So, I asked, why was the man crying? He was crying because he realized how empty he had become, and how unsafe he was without that presence. The presence was something his body was used to, but here he was without it, so he cried and cried asking God to please come back to live in him.
Sexual sin is not like every other sin, any time you decide to indulge in it, the Spirit of God won’t stay with you again, because God is a jealous God, and whenever he sees you joining yourself to another person or another spirit, He would leave, and withdraw His presence from you, because, God will never join himself to a prostitute, or to another spirit. This is something many people realize only after they had enjoy themselves, which makes many of them cry and cry, pleading for mercy.
The Bible says, _“Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.”*_ Every other sin that a man sin is outside the body, that is, they do not involve making your body one flesh with another immoral woman, or losing the sanctity of your body which is God’s holy temple. I would like you to read this scripture in the Message Bible:
“God honored the Master’s body by raising it from the grave. He’ll treat yours with the same resurrection power. Until that time, remember that your bodies are created with the same dignity as the Master’s body. You wouldn’t take the Master’s body off to a whorehouse, would you? I should hope not. There’s more to sex than mere skin on skin.
Sex is as much spiritual mystery as physical fact. As written in Scripture, “The two become one.” Since we want to become spiritually one with the Master, we must not pursue the kind of sex that avoids commitment and intimacy, leaving us more lonely than ever—the kind of sex that can never “become one.” There is a sense in which sexual sins are different from all others.
In sexual sin we violate the sacredness of our own bodies, these bodies that were made for God-given and God-modeled love, for “becoming one” with another. Or didn’t you realize that your body is a sacred place, the place of the Holy Spirit? Don’t you see that you can’t live however you please, squandering what God paid such a high price for? The physical part of you is not some piece of property belonging to the spiritual part of you. God owns the whole works. So let people see God in and through your body.” 1 Corinthians 6:14-20 MSG_
I do not think that any true child of God would read the above scripture in the message Bible and still be willing to engage or continue in sexual sin. Those who are not born again can continue to engage in it, they do not violate the sacredness of their bodies because their bodies never belong to God in the first place, they, and the harlots, and their immoral women both belong to the devil, so, God is not worried about the sinners doing all that, but when a child of God who should treasure his body because his body is God’s house begins to do that, then there’s every reason to be concerned. And for those who flirt around with women, going into every woman that comes there way, I’m going to show you a secret.
The Dangerous Effects Of Sexual Immorality
The scriptures warn us to flee fornication, to flee adultery, and every form of sexual sin, why? Because God knows the dangerous effects fornication, adultery, and all sexual sins would have on anyone who engage in them. I want to begin this part with the words of Solomon in Proverbs 6. Solomon was the wisest king in his days, he was very rich, had many wives and many concubines. He was a man who tried to enjoy life, and his wealth, but who at the end realized the vanity of all things. Reflecting on his own personal life, he realized his many errors, so, he wrote the Proverbs in other to help the younger men and women in generations after him learn wisdom, and here are some of his wise sayings:
*For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; And reproofs of instruction are the way of life: To keep thee from the evil woman, From the flattery of the tongue of a strange woman. Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; Neither let her take thee with her eyelids. For by means of a whorish woman a man is brought to a piece of bread: And the adulteress will hunt for the precious life.
Can a man take fire in his bosom, And his clothes not be burned? Can one go upon hot coals, And his feet not be burned? So he that goeth in to his neighbour’s wife; Whosoever toucheth her shall not be innocent. But whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: He that doeth it destroyeth his own soul. A wound and dishonour shall he get; And his reproach shall not be wiped away.” Proverbs 6:23-29, 32-33 KJV_
_Important points to note:_
A strange woman is an adulterous woman, an harlot, any woman who gives her body to men in exchange for money or other material properties.
Second point. Your neighbour is not the person living close to your house, but any man and any woman that you can see around you which you have the opportunity of being good and nice to. So, when the Bible talks about a man sleeping with his neighbour’s wife, he is talking about a man sleeping with any other woman who is not his legal wife. When you sleep with a woman who is not your wife, you sleep with your neighbour’s wife, and the Bible says, any man who does that lacks sense; so you can imagine how many senseless men we have in the world today.
I would like to dwell temporarily on verse 26 which says, _“For by means of a whorish woman a man is brought to a piece of bread: And the adulteress will hunt for the precious life.” Proverbs 6:26 KJV_
You will appreciate this scripture more if I allow you read it in other translations. Let’s see some other translations:
_*“For on account of a prostitute one is reduced to a piece of bread [to be eaten up], And the immoral woman hunts [with a hook] the precious life [of a man].” AMP_
_“Prostitutes reduce a man to poverty, and the adulteress steals your soul— she may even cost you your life!” TPT_
I have seen many people who were once rich become very poor, because when they were rich, the decided to flirt around with women; any woman they see, they want to sleep with her, so, they continued that way until all their riches went away.
Let Me Show You A Secret
I want to show you something I believe you probably do not know and have never heard anyone tell you before.
When a man labours to acquire his wealth and l prosperous, and the man becomes adulterous, falling for any woman he sees, and wants just anything under skirt, watch that man, he would one day be reduced to nothing, all his wealth and riches would go away, that’s what Solomon is saying in Proverbs 6:26. _Prostitute and prostitution would reduce a man to a poor man who might not even be able to afford a piece loaf of bread._ I will tell you how this would happen, just wait a minute.
The only rich man who can become more rich by prostitution, sleeping with different women is the man who did ritual to get his riches. When a man do money rituals, flirting around with women, and sleeping with them anyhow might not take the money away, that would instead help his money continue to increase, because it is by sleeping with the women than he renews his covenant to the evil spirits, and use his sexual engagements with the women to bring him more riches.
How Does Sexual Immorality Make Men Poor?
I want you to know that man is a spirit, we are spirit beings, but you have a soul, and live in a body. Your body that men see is the house where your spirit who is the real you lives. But every man is under the control of another spirit. Majorly, we have two spirits that rule over, and govern men’s spirits, they are: the Spirit of God, and Evil spirit. For every man, it is either the Spirit of God, or the evil Spirit possessing the man, you can’t have both of them possessing and controlling the man.
The Spirit of God has many other spirits under Him, and in subjection to Him; the devil, who is the evil spirit also has many other evil and demonic spirits under, and in subjection to him. And for every man in this world, it is either his spirit is controlled by the Spirit of God, or is controlled by the evil spirits. Those who subject their spirits to God, and are ruled and controlled by the Spirit of God, they are God’s children, while all those who are not subjected to God’s Spirit and are not ruled and controlled by Him are automatically under the control of the devil. With this, I can make my point now.
No adulterous woman has the Spirit of God dwelling in her, or controlling her; every harlot, every prostitute, every woman who gives her body to men in exchange for money or other material property has at least one evil spirit dwelling in her; it is the evil spirit(s) that now control(s) her life, tell(s) her what to do, how to go about prostituting herself with men. Now, when a man falls for this kind of woman, he subjects himself to her, and to the evil spirit controlling her. As the man sleeps with her, he joins himself to her, and she with him to become one flesh, and when the man becomes one flesh with the woman through sex, the evil spirit in her begins to rule over the man, because as she shares her body with him, she also she’s the evil spirit in her, and the curses working against her with him, so, they become one flesh, and one spirit with the evil spirit. When this man goes to another woman again, he would come under the control of the spirit at work in this new woman; that’s what many people do which has brought their lives and destinies under the control of many demons. As the man comes under many demon spirits, with time they would begin to work together to destroy the man, that’s why in most cases, their lives start going down, things would just become worse suddenly, and then become poor. Some would contact a sickness or a disease which would refused to be healed or cured, they would continue to spend all that the man has until everything is gone, because that’s how evil spirits work, they always work to make a man poor. Jesus said in John 10:10: _*“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy…”*_ Their work is to destroy, and ruin all you laboured for.
Evil spirits are wicked spirits, they only work with you when you are conscious of them, and consciously yield to them, but if they know you are not conscious of them, they would work against you to destroy you, that’s why many who ignorantly open themselves up to evil spirits got destroyed by them without knowing the source, or the root cause of their problems; it is the evil spirits they have come under through their fornication and adulterous life which are working secretly to destroy them.
Men who do money rituals, what they do is to consciously bring themselves under the control of demonic spirits, they become subjected to them, such people the evil spirits don’t destroy them for as long as they continue to obey them and do their bidden. These men, instead of the evil spirits destroying them, they would continue to work with them, and empower them to do more evil, kill, destroy, and ruin lives and destinies, what you would continue to see is that, women who give themselves to such men begins to live lives worse than the way they were before, some of them would get destroyed, and some of them would have certain things missing from their lives and their bodies, because the men have used such things in renewing their covenant with the evil spirits.
Therefore, as a child of God, you have to maintain the sacredness of your body, always remember that, God won’t live in your body anymore the moment you give your body for fornication or adultery. It is evil, and it violates the sacredness of your body, the temple of God, for this reason, do everything to stay away from sexual immorality.
Some people think the flesh is their problem, but I do not think so; the problem of many people is their indecision, they have not really made the decision to flee fornication and adultery. Note what the Bible says, it says, _*“flee fornication…;”*_ if your own is adultery, it says, _*“flee adultery…;”*_ it is you who must flee, and to flee, you have to make the decision. If you don’t flee, and you just remain in the same spot, with the same attitude, expecting women who could cause you to fall to flee from you, you are deceiving yourself. Attractive women won’t go away, fornication won’t go away, it is you who must know how to flee. 1 Thessalonians 5:22 says, _*Keep away from every kind of evil (ISV).*_
Look at your life, there are certain things you are doing right, these things are not happening by accident, it was your decision that made you start doing them right, and now you do them with ease, you don’t struggle at all; it is the same thing you do to fornication and adultery, you decide you are never going to have anything to do with them. Don’t fall for strange woman, don’t fall for adulterous woman, even if they decide to give you for free, please be on the run, because the pleasure of fornication and adultery could destroy your life forever. Proverbs says,
_*Truth will protect you from immorality and from the promiscuity of another man’s wife. Your heart won’t be enticed by her flatteries or lust over her beauty— nor will her suggestive ways conquer you. Prostitutes reduce a man to poverty, and the adulteress steals your soul— she may even cost you your life! For how can a man light his pants on fire and not be burned? Can he walk over hot coals of fire and not blister his feet? What makes you think that you can sleep with another man’s wife and not get caught? Do you really think you’ll get away with it? Don’t you know it will ruin your life? Don’t be so stupid as to think you can get away with your adultery. It will destroy your life, and you’ll pay the price for the rest of your days. You’ll discover what humiliation, shame, and disgrace are all about, for no one will ever let you forget what you’ve done. Proverbs 6:24-29, 32-33 TPT_
