“EXPERIENCE IS THE BEST TEACHER” IS ONE OF THE MOST ERRONEOUS SAYINGS.
DON’T TRY FAILURE, YOU MAY NOT COME OUT OF IT. LEARN WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED BEFORE FAILURE OVERRUNS YOUR LIFE.
WE HAD NO EXPERIENCE OF CHURCH GROWTH, SO WE SAT DOWN TO LEARN WHAT IT TAKES TO GROW A CHURCH.
OUR CELL SYSTEM WAS NOT WORKING SO I BOUGHT 400 COPIES OF ‘BUILDING SUCCESSFUL HOME CELLS’ BY YONGGI CHO AND GAVE THEM TO OUR CELL MINISTERS. WE STUDIED IT TOGETHER AND OUR CELLS EXPLODED.

Shall we give God thanks for the word today. Something must have come alive on your inside.
We have a saying in this part of the world, one of the most erroneous sayings. Experience is the best teacher. It is the most dangerous teacher. Don’t try to be in a road accident before you learn how to avoid it. Don’t try to suffer marriage failure before you learn what makes a marriage work. Don’t try failure, you may not come out of it. Learn what it takes to succeed before failure overruns your life. Experience is one of the most dangerous teachers, don’t try it. Daniel understood by books not by experience. 2 Timothy 4:13. Experience is not the best teacher. Proverbs 1:5. We place value on things that don’t work. Experience only holds water when it is value adding and impact generating.
This man got there by this, let me connect to it. Experience that is void of value addition and impact should be trashed. It is not necessary. Job 32:7-8. Learning is the best way up, the best way out and the best way forward. May we keep enjoying heaven’s instructions by engaging with it.
We had no experience of Church Growth, so we sat down to learn what it takes to grow a church. We tried home cells and it wasn’t working the way we said it should work so we sat down and learned how to make it work. In 2011-2013, we had a major cell system revival. I bought 400 books, 400 copies of Building Successful Home cells by Yonggi Cho and gave them to our cell ministers and we studied it together. We came back to do a review and we embarked on it. We jumped to 7,5000, jumped to 10,000 and then 15,000.
Not experience, knowledge. Acquisition of knowledge, making discoveries, learning better ways of doing it. We had three objectives – let us find out what we are not doing that we should start doing, let us find out what we are doing that we should stop doing and let us find out what we are doing and we are not doing well enough.
We sat down and did the review and the cells exploded. I got some materials on Cell Growth, we divided it chapter by chapter so we can finish it on time and come and do a review. We went up again. Knowledge is power and they always come with instructions that is why people don’t like it. They just go for principles. Principles are 25 per cent, instructions are 75 per cent. There is nothing you can do about principles to make them work without applying the instructions that go along with them.
– This month shall mark another turning point in the lives of everyone.

One can be in Church for 10 years without experiencing any change depending on his obedience life. He is no respecter of persons. Luke 6:46. They will never have wine if they won’t fill the pots with water. The blind man will never have his sight back if he never went to Siloam.
If he chose to go to Jordan because it is closer to where they were, he will be blinder than before. Go round the wall of Jericho once per day and seven times on the seventh day. No crack, nothing was showing that anything was going to happen but after their obedience, the wall sank.
– Every mountain before you will sink.
– May no one here ever reject his place in destiny.
Two quick things that have continued to humble me, I hated Lagos growing up with passion. Arise and get down to Lagos, immediately I trashed my hatred and embraced His instruction. This place? No! It can’t be a Church. We are not farming, No!. Okay, let’s pray and He said “This is the place”. May you be ever ready to trash your stand when He shows you the way to go. May you not be adamant on your way that is leading to nowhere and settle for what He shows you as the way to go.
– No one here will end his journey in regret.
Every instruction of scripture that looks so tough, that is where your life is. Sign up for it. Some don’t want to hear about kingdom advancement, it is a burden to them but that is where their advancement is. Satan wants them grounded so He won’t let them sign up. Some hate tithing, his poverty plague will not go until he subscribes to it.
May no one reject the colour of his destiny. Every instruction of scriptures is ordained to add value to our lives. It is for our profiting. May that be our portion always.
Revelation 22:17-18.
– You are declared blessed.
– You wake up to a brand new day tomorrow, full of blessings, full of joy, full of life.
– No one here will be a subject of emergency this year. No one will receive an emergency call from any of their children or grandchildren wherever they may be.
