Introduction

  • Prophecies are the unveiling of God’s plan and purpose for a people or an individual                    – Deut. 18:21-22/ Ezk. 12:25
  • Scripturally, there are 3 main sources of prophecy:
  • First, the Bible, which is said to be the more sure word of prophecy – 2 Pet. 1:19-21/ Isa. 29: 11-12/ Isa. 34: 16  
  • Secondly, through personal encounters with God – Gen. 12: 1-3/ Exo. 3:7-10/Act.9:3-5 
  • Thirdly, through God sent prophets – Luk. 4:25-27/ Mat. 10:41
  • But it takes faith to see prophecies fulfilled – Luk. 1:45.

How Powerful are Prophecies?

  • Prophecies are God’s sworn verdicts – Gen. 22:16-18/ Isa. 14:24
  • God speaks according to what He can do and will do – Isa. 55:10-11/ Luk. 1:34-35 

How does Faith Facilitate Fulfilment of Prophecies? 

  • Faith strengthens believers to see prophecies fulfilled – Heb. 11:11/ Gen. 21:1-2/6-7/ Rom. 4: 17-20 
  • To see prophecies fulfilled, we must receive the prophetic Word in our mind                            – Mat. 19:11/ 2Kgs. 7: 1-2/ Rom. 12:2/ 2Cor. 10:3-6 
    • We must believe the prophetic word in our heart – Rom. 10:10/ Mak. 11:23/ Heb. 4:2
  • We must work out our part to see prophecies fulfilled – Phi. 2:12/ Jam. 2:18-24/ 26
    • But we must be committed to build strength into our faith by feeding on the word of faith – Rom. 10:17/ 2Tim. 4:13/ Phil. 4:13
  • We must engage in a fight of faith to take delivery 1 Tim. 1:18/ 1 Tim. 6:12

How Powerful are Prophecies?

  • Prophecies carry in-built power for fulfillment – Isa. 55:10-11/ Luk. 1:34-35
  • God speaks according to His capacity, not our limitations– 2 Kgs. 7:1-2/19-20/ Isa. 43:13
  • God speaks according to His integrity, not our unpredictability – Tit. 1:2/Heb. 6:15-18/ Rom. 3:4

How does Faith Facilitate fulfilment of Prophecies?

  • It takes the hand of God to deliver any prophetic agenda – 1 Kgs. 8:15/ Mak. 9:23
    • But we can only provoke the hand of God by faith – Isa. 53:1/ Mat. 9:27-29
  • We must give ourselves wholly to the demands of prophecy – 1Tim. 4:15/Luk. 5:3-8
  • We must be committed to speaking faith-filled words contrary circumstances notwithstanding – Psa. 81:10-14/ Luk. 21:15/ Mak. 11:23
  • We must expect to see prophecies fulfilled – Heb. 11:1/ Pro. 24:13-14

How Powerful are Prophecies?

  • God speaks according to His Almighty power – Rev. 19:6/ Mak. 10:27
  • God speaks according to His creative wisdom – Pro 3:19/ Psa. 104: 24 / Isa. 55:8 

How does Faith Facilitate Fulfilment of Prophecies?

    • Faith is the test to pass to see any prophetic word come to pass – Num. 13:26-33/ Num. 14:1-10/21-24.
    • But we must continue to treasure prophetic words – Mat. 13:44-46/ 2 Pet. 1:19-21.
    • We must engage Faith-filled thoughts – Pro. 4:20-23/ Pro. 23:7/ Mak. 11:23
    • We must engage Faith-driven Actions – 1 Sam 1:14-15/ 1 Sam 2:3/ Jam. 2:18
  • We must be rest assured of the end result – Psa. 89:34/ Heb. 10:22-23/35

How Powerful are Prophecies?

  • God speaks according to His creative power – Heb. 11:3/ Rom. 4:17 
  • God speaks according to His unlimited resources – 2 Kgs 7:1-2/3-20/ Hag. 2:3-8 

How does Faith Facilitate Fulfilment of Prophecies?

  • The faith that will see prophecies fulfilled must be sustained to the end                                    – Hab. 2:1-4/ Heb. 10:38
    • Abraham staggered not at the promise of God, but was strong in faith                                               – Rom. 4:20-21/ Jn. 8:39
  • We must remain confident in the validity of the prophetic word – Heb. 10:35-36/                                  Psa. 125:1-3/ Phi. 3:3
  • We must be at peace with God and with ourselves – Exo. 14:14/ Psa. 46:10/ Phi. 4:6-7
  • We must continue to rejoice in spite of what may be happening to the contrary                           – Hab. 3:17-19/ Deut.28:47-48/ Joel 1:12
