Dear Reader,
Peace be unto you in Christ Jesus! May the blessing of the season become your portion today in the mighty name of Jesus Christ! Last week, I taught on the design of God for the home. This week, I want to teach on Joy and Praise as the Instrument of Attracting Heaven in Your Home. It is important for you to know that joy and praise make the atmosphere conducive for the presence of God in your home. When God is present, a hedge of fire surrounds your home, which keeps the devil and his cohorts away (Job 1:8-9).
Fullness of joy and everlasting pleasures or peace are what you experience, when you make room for God’s presence to dominate your home. The Word of God says: Thou wilt show me the path of life; In thine presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for ever more(Psalms 16:11). As a family, find time to praise God together; it will fill your home with God’s presence, and wherever God is, there is fullness of joy and pleasures forever more.
To enjoy heaven in your home this Christmas season and thereafter, you need to embrace the Spirit of joy and praise. If you are not grateful, you cannot be praiseful, and if you are not praiseful, you cannot be joyful and if you are not joyful, you can never be God-full and if you are not God-full, you cannot be wonderful.
The Kingdom of God is a Kingdom of wells. Everything that man will ever need in life is available in that well of salvation. These include deliverance, healing, prosperity, promotion, etc. You need to maintain a joyful disposition to access your blessings. The function of joy is to help diffuse tension; it deflates pressure and helps you enjoy a stress-free atmosphere at all times. You cannot bring heaven to bear in your home without praise and joy. Let me give you a piece of advice: be careful about the kind of people who come around you when you are facing a tough time. Below is a testimony as a proof of God’s intervention through praise:
“In October 1995, my marriage witnessed the hardest and shockest heat of breaking! My husband was charmed and when he came back from the village, the situation in the house changed. He no longer ate the food I cooked and subsequently ordered my packing out of the house. But God the Creator of heaven and earth Who knows every home restored my home! How?
When I was invited by a friend for the Breakthrough Seminar, God spoke to the Bishop concerning married couples – especially those whose parents were controlling their family affairs and those who were using their wives as punching bags.
Fortunately, my husband and I were at that service. To him, he didn’t know what he was doing, it was not intentional. We bought the anointing oil and blessed it. When we got home, we sprinkled the oil and drank some. By the end of that Breakthrough Seminar, my home was calm!
The Lord visited us in a unique way by sending His messenger to tell us to restore our home and cast out the hand of the devil. A woman visited us and preached to us concerning marriage and home-breaking, yet we never told anybody about the challenge. It was the Lord, Who through the anointing oil sent His Word in our direction. Even angels visited us! In fact, from then on, we started to hear the direct voice of God concerning our lives and divine direction in all our endeavours! Today my home is blessed in numerous ways. I have no prayer request any longer, for the Lord directs my steps. All I do is praise, for my praise brings about my raising, according to my Bishop.” – Enwere, B. C.
I don’t know how your situation may look like right now, all you need is to embrace this truth and set yourself free from the spirit of depression. Until you are depressed, you cannot be oppressed. Wake up! If God be for you no devil can oppress you. Make praise a lifestyle. As you wake up in the morning, whether you feel like it or not, praise God. Let every thing within you spell joy. As you make a habit of letting joy surge from within you, every part of your body system is revitalized. The Bible says: A merry heart doeth good like a medicine…(Proverbs 17:2).
Does your marriage seem to be joyless right now? Do not lose hope. God who did it at Cana will do it again in your life and give you a miracle, because He is still the miracle worker! Expect a miracle in your life today! However, you must be ready to give it all it takes. Do you want God’s intervention in your home? So, be joyful!
My husband says, “Until you learn how to be grateful, you don’t taste greatness, because the depth of your gratitude determines the depth of God’s commitment to your lifting.” Do you want greatness in your family? Then, learn to appreciate God and your family members.
If you are not acquainted with the mystery of praise, you may miss all the goodness of life in your family. Though it is God’s plan and determination to bring laughter to your family this year, it will take your praising Him to make it a reality in your life and family (I Samuel 12:30): Joy and praise are the spices of life. Unfortunately, they are the major things lacking in most homes today. Some couples even find it difficult to smile at one another. But the Word of God says, Rejoice and again I say rejoice (Philippians 4:4). Your home is not meant to be shrouded in a silent and dull atmosphere, resulting from lack of joy and praise. Be joyful and make room for praise in your home and it shall reflect heaven!
Jesus Christ is the reason for the season! If you don’t have Him, you have nothing to rejoice about and can never reflect heaven in your home. If you are ready for this new birth experience, please say this prayer with me:
“Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today, I am a sinner. I cannot help myself. Forgive me my sins, cleanse me with Your blood. Deliver me from sin and satan to serve the living God. I believe You died for me and on the third day, You rose that I might be justified. I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Make me a child of God today. Thank You for accepting me into Your Kingdom.”
